A large share of visitors are on a phone. Tiny tap targets, a keyboard that covers the field, zoom-to-read text — any of these quietly drives mobile users away. A form that is a pleasure on a laptop can be unusable in a thumb.
An error wipes their work
Nothing kills a submission like an error message that clears the form or fails to say what went wrong. If someone has to re-type everything to fix one field, most will not.
- Validate gently, field by field, not all at the end.

- Never discard what the person already typed.
The payment feels unsafe
