The short story that sells your work

Facts inform; stories convince. A few honest lines about why you made this can do more than a page of features.

People don't connect with feature lists — they connect with reasons. Why you built this, what problem drove you mad enough to solve it, who it's really for. A short, true story does something a spec sheet never can: it makes a stranger care.

Tell the honest version

The best origin story isn't heroic, it's relatable. 'I kept losing sales at checkout, got fed up, and built the thing I wished existed' invites the reader in, because they've felt that frustration too. Your struggle is the bridge to theirs.

Then get out of the way

A story earns attention; it doesn't close the sale by itself. Tell it briefly, connect it to what the buyer wants, and then make the next step obvious. Story to set up, clear ask to finish.
