Selling a course without a course platform

You don't need an expensive course platform to sell what you know. For your first course, less machinery means more shipping.

The dream of selling a course often dies inside a course platform — the setup, the monthly fee, the features you don't use yet. For a first course, all that machinery is a way to stay busy without ever launching. You need far less than you think.

The minimum that works

  • The lessons themselves — videos, PDFs, or written — hosted simply.
  • A page that takes payment and hands over access.
  • A way to email the people who bought.

Prove it, then upgrade

Ship the simple version, see if people actually buy and finish it, and let the revenue justify anything fancier. A course selling from a plain page beats a perfect one still trapped in setup.
