Product photos that do the selling

For a digital product especially, the image is standing in for something people can't touch. A weak one costs you the click.

People buy with their eyes first. Even for a digital product with nothing physical to show, the cover image is the handshake — it signals whether this is worth taking seriously before anyone reads a word.

What a good product image does

  • Shows the thing in use or in context, not just a bare file icon.
  • Uses real, clean light — a phone photo by a window beats a dark, cluttered studio shot.
  • Looks like the rest of your brand, so the page feels of a piece.

Consistency reads as quality

A set of images shot the same way — same light, same crop, same mood — makes a small shop look established. Mismatched photos make even good products look thrown together.
